Dave learned the art of inventing from his mother. It started at the age of six, when she helped him turn the scraps from her building projects into little wooden boats. A few years later she took him to Radioshack and bought a bunch of batteries, wires, motors, lights, and doorbells so he could make things move and buzz and blink. Fast forward a few decades and he's still doing the very same thing, and he still loves every minute of it.
In 2013 he received a Master's in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design, where his thesis was designing a modular electronics platform that encourages curiosity and empowers new inventors. Before RISD he was the first Program Director of the Steel Yard, an industrial arts makerspace in Providence, RI.
In his spare time Dave climbs walls, ferments things, cooks things, and accidentally breaks things he’s fidgeting with.
